Google has lost two more members of its AI team.
According to reports, Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel, two researchers who helped develop Google’s Gemini AI model, are leaving the company to join Anthropic, the startup behind Claude.
The move comes as competition for AI talent continues to heat up across the industry. Companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are investing heavily in both AI development and the researchers behind it.

Adler and Pritzel played key roles in the development of Gemini, Google’s flagship family of AI models. Their departure marks another notable change within Google’s AI ranks as rivals continue to strengthen their own research teams.
Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI researchers, has emerged as one of the leading AI companies alongside OpenAI and Google. Its Claude models have gained attention as a major competitor in the rapidly growing AI market.
The latest hires add to Anthropic’s growing roster of AI talent and further highlight the intense competition among leading AI companies for experienced researchers.
Neither Google nor Anthropic has publicly commented in detail on the move.
For now, the departures serve as another reminder that the race to build the future of AI is not only about technology, but also about the people creating it.
