Nigeria’s industrial sector is positioning itself for a major technological leap as it prepares to host the inaugural AVEVA Day Nigeria on June 11 in Lagos.

The event will gather industry leaders, tech experts, and key decision makers to address the integration of AI, data driven decision making, and connected ecosystems across the region’s energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.
The summit arrives amid a notable gap between corporate tech ambitions and real world execution.

According to recent research conducted by AVEVA and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), 74% of business leaders view digital ecosystems as a strategic priority, yet only 27% report extensive data sharing with their ecosystem partners.

The forum will center on bridging this execution gap, focusing on several core pillars of modern industrial strategy, Industrial Intelligence & AI: Transitioning from automated processes to AI-driven operations, such as

Digital Twins & Data Dynamics: Utilizing virtual models to optimize physical assets and streamline decision making.
Connected Ecosystems: Breaking down data silos to foster collaborative, sustainable industrial growth.

“The future of industry will be defined not just by technology adoption, but by how effectively businesses connect people, processes, and data to drive measurable outcomes.”

As Nigeria accelerates its broader digital and industrial transformation agenda, the event highlights a shifting focus toward unified, intelligent operations. Ahead of the summit, key insights were shared by Khaled Salah, AVEVA’s Vice President for Africa, and Hanno van Niekerk, Market Leader for Sub Saharan Africa, emphasizing that the region’s next industrial era relies heavily on moving past isolated systems.
