For millions of Nigerians, e-commerce shoppers, and delivery drivers, this phrase is a familiar ritual. Navigating Nigeria’s vibrant cities and towns has long relied on a chaotic mix of landmark descriptions, dropped pins, and countless back and forth phone calls. Traditional street addressing systems in many parts of the country remain inconsistent, incomplete, or entirely nonexistent, creating a major bottleneck for modern commerce and public safety.
To solve this persistent infrastructure gap, Nigerian location technology company Maiaddy has officially launched Maimaps, a digital navigation platform built specifically to streamline address discovery and logistics across the country.
At the core of Maimaps is a simplified digital addressing tool known as Loccodes. Instead of typing out long, ambiguous street descriptions or relying on imprecise landmarks, Maimaps assigns every street and location a unique digital identity code such as “LA8A 1FU.” By compressing complex physical spaces into short, highly precise alphanumeric codes, the platform provides a accurate anchor for location sharing.
The system offers targeted benefits across several key sectors:
For Everyday Consumers: Users can simply copy, paste, or tap a single Loccode to generate precise, direct navigation routes to their destination, eliminating the frustration of calling drivers multiple times for directions.
For Businesses and Logistics: E-commerce merchants and delivery fleets can integrate Loccodes directly into checkout pages, invoices, and dispatch software, bringing consistency and speed to last mile deliveries.
For Software Developers: Maiaddy has released open APIs and SDKs, enabling developers to embed Loccode based navigation into logistics apps, fintech platforms, ride hailing services, and emergency response systems.
Addressing the challenge, Obinna Onyejeli, founder of Maiaddy, emphasized the broader economic impact of reliable location infrastructure during the launch
