Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new AI model designed to handle coding, software engineering and agentic tasks with greater accuracy.
The company calls it its most intelligent workhorse model yet for coding and AI agents. The release comes just three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash, showing how quickly Google is now iterating on its lower-cost models.
The bigger surprise is the price.
Google is offering Gemini 3.7 Flash at an introductory rate of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of 2026. Those rates are half the previous input and output prices for Gemini 3.6 Flash. From January 2027, the prices will rise to $1.50 and $7.50 respectively.
For developers building AI agents, that difference matters. Agentic systems can make repeated model calls while planning tasks, using tools and checking their own work. Lower inference costs can therefore make it cheaper to run those systems at scale.
Google is also targeting software development directly. It says Gemini 3.7 Flash produces more accurate code on the first attempt, follows instructions more closely and performs better when debugging or resolving software issues.
The company reported a jump from 49% to 65.3% on the DeepSWE v1.1 software-engineering benchmark. It also reported improvements on coding, web development and business-automation evaluations. These are Google’s own benchmark results, so they should be viewed as vendor-reported performance rather than independent testing.
The model is not limited to writing code. Google says it is better at multi-step tasks that require planning and tool use. That makes it suitable for AI agents that can interact with software and complete tasks with less human intervention.
Google is already putting that capability into its products. Gemini Spark, the company’s personal AI agent for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, is moving to Gemini 3.7 Flash. Spark can use tools across Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar and Docs.
The company is also positioning the model for broader knowledge work. Google says it has improved performance in areas such as finance, law, biosciences and complex document processing.
For developers, Gemini 3.7 Flash is available through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity and Android Studio. Enterprise customers can access it through Google’s enterprise AI platforms.

The combination of stronger performance and lower pricing is what makes this release notable.
Google is not simply trying to make another Flash model. It is pushing a cheaper model deeper into the workloads that could drive the next wave of AI adoption, particularly software development and autonomous agents.
If those systems become more capable while their operating costs fall, developers have more room to deploy them in real-world products.
That could make Gemini 3.7 Flash an important release even if Google’s flagship models remain the focus of the broader AI race. The battle is no longer only about building the smartest model.
It is increasingly about how much useful work an AI model can deliver for every dollar spent.
