Imagine this; Your money is stuck in a failed transfer. Your card just got blocked. Your account suddenly shows transactions you never made. You’re panicking, and the first thing you do is frantically search “customer care number for my bank.” But then you find yourself drowning in results, some from 2023, some from random aggregator websites, and a few that might be outright scams designed to steal your login credentials.
This situation plays out thousands of times every week in Nigeria, and it doesn’t have to happen to you. The problem isn’t that banks and fintechs don’t have customer care numbers. They do. The problem is finding the real ones without falling victim to outdated information or fake contacts.
Every customer care number, email address, and WhatsApp contact listed here comes directly from official bank and fintech websites and verified social media accounts. No aggregators. No third-party directories. No guesswork. Just verified information pulled straight from the source.
Nigeria’s banking sector includes 26 active commercial banks, each maintaining 24/7 customer care operations, and 18 major fintech companies operating in payments, lending, savings, and investments. All of them publish at least one official phone line, email support, and most offer WhatsApp or in-app chat support. When your money is on the line, knowing the real number to call is the difference between a 5-minute resolution and hours of frustration.
Why These Numbers Matters?
Before you dial, understand this: calling the wrong customer care number (or a scam number pretending to be legitimate) puts your account at risk. Scammers harvest fake customer care numbers and get them onto aggregator sites and old blog posts specifically because people are stressed and desperate when they need them. One wrong call and you’re sharing your account details with criminals.
The numbers below are verified directly from official sources. If your bank publishes it on their website and verified social media accounts, it’s here.
All 26 active commercial banks publish at least one 24/7 phone line and a customer care email address. Most also offer WhatsApp support through dedicated numbers or virtual assistants in their mobile apps. Here’s where to reach them:

Fintech Customer Care Numbers in Nigeria 2026
The fintech space operates differently from traditional banking. Most fintechs route support through in-app chat, email, or phone—sometimes all three. A few explicitly avoid certain channels for security reasons (more on that below). What matters is that all 18 major fintechs listed here publish at least one verified way to reach them.

What to Do When Your Bank or Fintech Won’t Resolve Your Issue
You’ve called. You’ve emailed. It’s been two weeks and nothing has changed. Before you give up or start posting angry tweets, know this: Nigeria’s Central Bank has a formal complaints process, and banks actually have to respond to it.
If you contact your bank or fintech about a problem and don’t get resolution within a reasonable timeframe, usually 2-4 weeks depending on the issue, you can escalate to the CBN’s Consumer Protection Department (CPD). This isn’t informal. This is an official regulatory body with actual enforcement power.
Here’s the exact process:
- Call the bank’s official 24/7 line and log your complaint formally. Before you hang up, ask for a ticket or reference number. Write it down. This reference number becomes your proof of contact and will speed up any future escalations.
- Send a follow-up email within 24 hours. Quote your reference number and describe the issue clearly. This creates a written record. Most banks use this email to open a formal case file.
- Wait two weeks. The CBN’s guidelines give most issues two weeks for resolution. For loan-related and excess-charges complaints, it’s 30 days. If nothing happens after that window, move to step 4.
- Escalate to the Central Bank. Email the CBN Consumer Protection Department at cpd@cbn.gov.ng with your complaint, reference numbers from the bank, and documentation of what went wrong and how long you’ve waited. The CBN will investigate and force the bank to respond properly.
This process works because banks fear CBN investigations more than they fear angry customers on social media. Don’t skip the first three steps—the CBN only takes escalations from people who’ve already gone through their bank’s process.

How to Use This List Safely
This article only includes customer care contacts sourced directly from official bank and fintech websites and verified social media accounts at the time of research. We don’t pull from aggregator sites, third-party directories, or random websites because those are exactly where scammers plant fake numbers.
Important: Banks and fintechs update their contact information regularly. A phone number might change when departments reorganize. An email might become inactive. If you find an error or an outdated contact, please reach out and we’ll update it immediately. Our goal is to give you accurate, reliable information—not to send you to dead numbers or fake contacts.

Quick Tips for Safe Banking Support
Before you call any customer care number (even one from this list):
- Go to the official website first. If the number here differs from what’s on the bank’s website, trust the website. Websites are harder for scammers to fake than blog posts.
- Never share your PIN or full account number unless you absolutely need to verify your identity. Most customer care reps only need the first few digits to identify your account.
- Be suspicious of calls you didn’t initiate. If someone calls you claiming to be from your bank, hang up and call the official number yourself. Real banks don’t call you asking for credentials.
- Use WhatsApp and in-app chat for non-urgent issues only. For sensitive matters like fraud claims or account restrictions, use phone or email where there’s a documented record.
- Always ask for a reference number. Every legitimate support interaction should generate a ticket or reference number you can quote in future communications.
Nigeria’s banks and fintechs are required by regulators to maintain proper customer support. When something goes wrong with your money, you have legitimate channels to fix it. Know the real numbers. Use them confidently. And don’t hesitate to escalate to the CBN if you’re not getting results.
